Bay St. Louis Police Officers Branden Estorffe, 23, and Steven Robin, 34, were murdered by Amy Anderson, 43, at a Motel 6 location in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi on December 14, 2022.
At 2:30 a.m. Amy and her 8-year-old daughter checked into the Motel 6. Amy believed she was being followed by a white truck, and asked the motel clerk to call 911 for help.
Officers Steven and Branden arrived at the motel and talked with Amy at her room.
At some point during the conversation, officers determined that the child with Amy may be in need of Child Protective Services, officers called CPS to the scene.
Before CPS arrived Amy made her way to her vehicle and put the young girl in the back seat. Officers tried to stop Amy from leaving, which is when she shot and killed both officers in the Motel 6 parking lot.
Amy was shot in the chest by one of the officers. Amy died at the scene, it is not clear which officer fired the shot at Amy. Both officers died at the scene also.
Amy’s 8-year-old daughter was not hurt in the shooting.
The bodies of both officers were transported to the state crime lab for further investigation.
