ROACHES FOUND AT WAFFLE HOUSE ON COOK LINE DURING INSPECTION, SCORES 86 B

Date:

On March 2, 2023 the Waffle House scored an 86 B on a health safety inspection. The restaurant is located at 6637 Independence Blvd. Charlotte, NC. A roach was even found during the inspection.

An employee beverage was stored on the prep sink. Ham was out of temperature, open, uncovered, and in a unprotected package. The inspector had the ham thrown away.

Also the ground beef, steak, eggs, chicken, and ham were cold held at unsafe temperatures above 41 degrees, the food was then discarded.

The inspector saw an alive roach on the cook line crawling. A degreaser container was stored on a shelf above food items.

See video below of flying roaches at a Waffle House in Charlotte, NC near North Tryon Street.

The inspector observed bags of clean linen and single service containers stored on the ground. The 2 door reach in refrigerator was not calibrated to maintain foods at or below 41 degrees.

There was residue on the outside and inside of the refrigeration units.

A dead rodent was found at another Charlotte Waffle House.
