On March 6, 2023 Zion Brown, 21, was charged with the murder of Ontario Redfern, 25. Kenneth Cathcart, 25, was charged with accessory after the fact to murder. The victim was shot and killed in Charlotte, NC on August 5, 2022. Ontario had just been released from jail, his mother Teresa Redfern died in April 2022.
Ontario was shot several times on Avebury Drive at an apartment complex at 2 a.m. Ontario was pronounced deceased at the scene.
In March 2023 Zion was arrested and charged with murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Kenneth was also arrested charged with accessory after the fact.
Ontario was released from incarceration in January 2022.
