A Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department officer sustained serious injuries after getting ran into by Nicholas James Stedeford-Aaron, 22, on Interstate 85 in Charlotte, NC. The brutal crash was on October 10, 2026.

The crash was at 12:39 a.m. Officers responded to a accident 911 call on I-85. On the crash scene a cop was in a patrol car surveying the scene.

Nicholas was driving a vehicle that ran into the cop car while the cop was inside. The cop’s face busted into the windshield which caused heavy bleeding, the cop sustained serious injuries. The rear end crash was loud and immediately caught the attention of highway patrol troopers that were on scene for the original crash.
Nicholas was also injured in the crash. Nicholas was determined to be drunk and he was arrested charged with DWI and reckless driving and failure to move over for emergency vehicles. The cop’s serious injuries caused them to be unable to chase people on foot for a while.
