Councilman Timothy Jerome Walker, 34, was arrested on October 10, 2026 accused of two gun charges after allegedly bringing a gun to the homecoming of North Carolina Central University in Durham, NC. Timothy is a city council man in Rocky Mount, NC. He is an active member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated.

Councilman Walker is an alumni of NCCU and went to the homecoming football game. Councilman Walker is accused of having a Glock gun on campus. Someone saw Walker with a gun and told campus police.
Campus police approached Councilman Walker and detained him. The Councilman Walker was then arrested charged with bringing a gun on educational property and carrying a concealed weapon.

Charlotte Alerts News received this statement from the city of Rocky Mount:
“The City of Rocky Mount is aware of Councilman T.J. Walker Jr.’s arrest. The City does not comment on pending legal proceedings involving individual elected officials. The matter will be addressed through the appropriate judicial process. The City remains focused on carrying out municipal operations and serving the residents of Rocky Mount.”
Councilman Walker is married with three children. Councilman Walker says he gives God all the glory, honor, and praise for using his life for service. His current term expires in 2027.
