On Labor Day weekend 2026 Manuel Martinez, 33, was murdered on September 6, 2026 in uptown Charlotte, NC on West Trade Street after Manuel attended a Charlotte FC soccer game. Manuel’s father just turned 83-years-old in July 2026. Manuel was also a police officer. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.
Manuel was from another city in North Carolina just visiting to watch the Charlotte FC soccer game. After the game Manuel and friends went to bars and clubs to hang out and have some free time.
But things would turn deadly for Manuel the ex cop. At 4 a.m. a confrontation led to a suspect shooting Manuel multiple times in uptown Charlotte just a short distance from Bank of America Stadium where the soccer game was played. Manuel died on scene. Manuel had large chest tattoos and other body tattoos.
No arrests have been made. Manuel was an avid soccer player.
It has been a very bloody Labor Day weekend in Charlotte, as there have already been 2 murders. Elliott Butler, 31, was murdered on September 5, 2026.
