A mother murdered her own 2-year-old baby son and called him the devil. She got tips from Lindsay Clancy murder trial
38-year-old Corie Walsh killed her baby boy in September 2026 in Frankfort, Illinois. The baby was hanged to death. Corie said she killed her son because he was the devil.
For what ever psychotic reason Corie thought that her baby son was the devil and she hanged him in the basement of their home until he died.
Corie then went into her bathtub and cut herself with a knife in a suicide attempt. Corie’s other kids came home from school and found their 2-year-old baby brother hanging from a cord.
The kids smartly called a teen neighbor family friend, the family friend came inside and discovered the child dead in the basement and Corie in the bathtub covered in blood. Corie had cuts to her wrists and thighs.
911 was called and Corie was arrested on scene. Corie told police that she thought her child was the devil, so she killed him. Corie was charged with murder. The coroner’s office said the baby died from asphyxia. The father of the kids was out of town on business.
Corie had closely followed the Lindsay Clancy murder trial in Massachusetts, where Lindsay killed her 3 kids and was acquitted. In a statement, Corie’s attorney said she experienced a psychotic episode at the time of the murder.
