A storage unit auction led to a buyer finding 25 pounds of cocaine in the abandoned unit, instead of selling it and becoming a millionaire, the buyer called police
In July to August 2026 25 pounds of cocaine were found in a storage unit business on Albemarle Road Charlotte, NC. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.

The storage unit was abandoned and up for auction by the storage business due to the original buyer not paying monthly rent.

7 kilograms of cocaine was found by a maid at the Marriott Hotel in uptown Charlotte
The highest bidder was then able to take possession of the storage unit. The buyer saw several large packages of a tightly wrapped product. The buyer cut the packages open and saw cocaine, meth, and fentanyl.
Instead of selling the drugs to get rich quick, the buyer called police. Police responded to a found property call at the location and determined that the drugs entailed 25 pounds of cocaine, 3 ounces of methamphetamine, and fentanyl.
