INMATE CHARGED WITH DEATH OF FELLOW INMATE

Stephanie Osowski, 40, died in the Lenoir County Detention Center where she was being held as an inmate on January 20, 2024. Her fellow inmate Kristen Nicole Graham, 29, is charged with Stephanie’s death. 

On January 20th the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) received a request from the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office to investigate the death of an inmate at the Lenoir County Detention Center. 

Stephanie was found deceased in her cell. Preliminary autopsy results are consistent with Stephanie dying from a drug overdose. 

After consultation with the district attorney, on January 25, 2024, Kristen who was also an inmate at the Lenoir County Detention Center, was charged with death by distribution. 

After going before a magistrate, Kristen was issued a $250,000 secured bond.
