MAN CONVICTED OF MURDER GETS LIFE IN PRISON

Emmanuel Collins, 29, was sentenced to life in prison in May 2026 after being convicted of murdering 52-year-old Jessie Hurley in Charlotte, NC.

Jessie was murdered on July 6, 2020, at a nightclub off East W.T. Harris Blvd. Hurley was sitting on a milk crate
when Emmanuel Collins approached him and the two had a brief verbal argument.

Collins raised a 9mm Taurus handgun and shot Hurley once in the chest before fleeing. Hurley was pronounced
deceased on the scene.

Collins was arrested after a high speed chase. Collins was charged with murder. A jury found him guilty. He was given life in prison.
