In 2026 a Walmart employee at the North Tryon Charlotte, NC location was arrested accused of stealing cash from the register. The employee suspect is Markasja Parks, 24. The North Tryon Walmart is the worst in Charlotte, the lines are long, there are fights there, and many products are locked up, requiring a employee to come to the aisle and unlock the barrier in efforts to prevent theft.
Over the time of a month, Markasja was working at the register and was caught on camera allegedly taking cash that customers paid with and placing the money in her pocket.
The defendant began on January 28, 2026 where she took $300, cops say. The next day Markasja is accused of taking $300.
On January 30th officials say she took $400. On several other days within the next 2 weeks Markasja is accused of taking thousands more in cash.
The total amount of the theft was $4,325. All incidents were caught on camera, all funds were calculated by money missing from the registers.
Each incident was through different ways on hiding the money such as placing her phone over the money and placing both in her pocket, or hiding it behind an object and placing it in her pocket when nobody was looking.
Markasja was arrested charged with larceny by employee.
