Jade Callwood is the newest student of a historically black college to die unexpectedly, there have been 3 this month
On January 13, 2026 Tuskegee University student Jade Callwood, 21, died. Jade was a senior at Tuskegee University majoring in Environmental, Resources and Plant Sciences.
Jade is from the Atlanta, GA area. She had a sudden and unexpected medical emergency that caused her death. It is not known if Jade died on campus or back home in Atlanta. Tuskegee is a Historically Black College University otherwise known as HBCU.
There have been a staggering amount of black college deaths within the last year.
