VIDEO: WORK VAN LEADS BORDER PATROL ON CHASE ON NORTH TRYON STREET, MAN WAS AMERICAN CITIZEN

Miguel Angel Garcia Martinez, 24, was arrested on November 16, 2025 accused of getting in a high speed chase with Border Patrol on North Tryon St. and University Blvd. in Charlotte, NC. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.

On November 16, 2025, federal law enforcement officers attempted to make contact with Miguel after his work mechanic van was observed at two different locations where federal officers were conducting immigration raid operations.

As officers approached Miguel’s van, he allegedly fled the scene driving aggressively at a high rate of speed. The van drove erratically swerving in and out of traffic, crossing medians and sidewalks, and driving into oncoming traffic down North Tryon Street.

The van was seen driving in the grass to get away from Border Patrol. A latina woman can be heard yelling and pointing for Miguel to go left.

Ultimately, Miguel rammed his van into a government vehicle and was stuck, court documents say. Miguel was arrested and is now facing charges of felony assault, resist, or impede a federal officer.
