A woman was murdered in a parking lot by a male, the suspect is going to prison for life
Dayshawn Beckham was sentenced to life in prison on October 3, 2025 in Charlotte, NC for murdering 30-year-old Zenita Graham. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.

The homicide was in February 2020. Zenita was murdered outside a barber shop on Rozzelles Ferry Road in the parking lot. Zenita was shot and then called 911. Responding officers located Zenita suffering from
a gunshot wound on the ground.
She was initially alert and able to communicate and told officers that “Doug” shot her. Zenita then died. During the course of their investigation, detectives were able to identify Dayshawn Beckham
as a suspect.
Dayshawn was arrested the next day for first degree murder. Dayshawn exercised his right to a bench trial.
Judge Strickland found him guilty as charged and sentenced him to life in prison without the possibility of parole. There was very little evidence to prove Dayshawn committed the murder. The verdict will likely be appealed, but that takes years.
