Airport workers found a stowaway dead body on a plane at Charlotte Douglas International Airport
A dead body was found on a American Airlines plane at the Charlotte Douglas International Airport in Charlotte, NC on September 28, 2025. The plane was arriving from Europe. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.
Workers at the airport were performing maintenance on the plane when they found the dead body, commonly referred to as a stowaway.
A dead body was found in the landing gear of the plane. The plane had just arrived from Europe. Police are investigating the person’s death. An American Airlines spokesperson said the airline is working with law enforcement.
The Charlotte Douglas Airport released the following statement:
“Charlotte Airport is aware of the tragic discovery involving a deceased individual found in an American Airlines aircraft this morning. We are deeply saddened by this news and will support Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s (CMPD) investigation as needed. Airport operations continue as normal.”
