A Food Lion grocery store employee was found dead on the job in a freezer. The death occurred at a Food Lion in Raleigh, North Carolina on September 10, 2024. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.
The Food Lion employee was working at the store. It is believed that the man had a heart attack in the store and died in the freezer.
Other Food Lion employees found the man dead in the freezer. Police were called to the scene along with paramedics. A Wells Fargo employee identified as Denise Prudhomme was found dead on the job at her cubicle desk.
OSHA is investigating the incident. No foul play is suspected. Food Lion owns 1,174 stores in 10 states. Video shows a construction worker being killed on the job after a crane fell from a skyscraper.
Food Lion released a statement:
“Food Lion is deeply saddened by the unexpected loss of our associate. We express our deepest condolences to the associate’s family and friends. Food Lion is cooperating with local authorities in their investigation of this unfortunate incident.”
