MEN ADMIT TO MURDERING RAPPER IN FOOD LION PARKING LOT

A rapper was murdered at Food Lion during wild shooting

On August 8, 2025 Divine Miller, 27, and Xavier East, 27, pled guilty to the second degree murder of 28-year-old De’Anthony Ellis at the Food Lion parking lot on Albemarle Road Charlotte, NC. The homicide was on April 21, 2021. De’Anthony was a local rapper.

At 8:30 p.m. on April 21, 2021, Xavier and Divine got into a shootout with De’Anthony in the Food Lion parking lot. De’Anthony was shot and was seriously injured. Xavier and Divine were also shot and went to the hospital.

EMS was called and De’Anthony was transported to the hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

During the investigation, Xavier and Divine arrived at the hospital with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. Hospital staff always tells cops when people come to the hospital with gunshots.

Cops went to the hospital and arrested Xavier and Divine charging them with murder and robbery. In 2025 the suspects pled guilty to murder and were sentenced to several years in prison with credit for time served.
