Any and everything happens on West Sugar Creek, this time it was a carjacking
Joseph Stephens, 23, and Davon Long, 19, were sentenced to prison on July 10, 2025 in Charlotte, NC. The 2 men carjacked a automobile at a gas station on West Sugar Creek. There is a lot of crime on West Sugar Creek. The area is plagued with prostitution, drugs, and murders.
The suspects performed a carjacking on April 19, 2024. They approached a vehicle being fueled at the pump of a gas station located on West Sugar Creek.
Armed with handguns, Joseph and Davon approached and confronted the driver and occupants. The suspects told the victims to “get the hell out of the car now!”
All three victims abandoned the vehicle and fled. After the victims fled Davon got into the front passenger seat, and Joseph got into the driver’s seat.
Joseph was not smart enough to restart the vehicle and both defendants fled on foot. Both men were apprehended across the street from the carjacking in a motel parking lot.
In 2025, the suspects pled guilty to possession and brandishing of a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence. They were each sentenced to seven years in prison and were ordered to serve five and three years under court supervision upon completion of their prison terms.
