Stephen Lawson, 39, died in a head on collision on March 31, 2025 in Charlotte, NC. The crash left Stephen with broken bones and severe injuries. His father Steve Lawson is a Reverend and pastor. His mother Karen is active in church too. Stephen died in the hospital in front of his mother.

The actual crash was on March 27, 2025, at 8:34 p.m., on Albemarle Road. Stephen was riding a bicycle in a lane on Albemarle Road when he was struck by a Honda Accord. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.

Cops say Stephen’s bicycle did not have any marker lights on the front or rear of the bicycle. Upon arrival, officers located the bicyclist unresponsive and bleeding heavily.

The Honda Accord sustained significant front damage. Paramedics transported Stephen to Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center with life threatening injuries. Neither speed nor impairment are suspected factors for the driver of the Honda.

Stephen was seen by a trauma surgeon at the hospital in critical condition. Stephen had head trauma with many broken bones. Emergency surgery was performed to remove his spleen.

He had many broken bones, along with brain damage from the crash. The injuries caused Stephen to be put on a respirator. Medical scans were also conducted.
Sadly on March 31, 2025, at 4:45 p.m., the victim was pronounced deceased at Novant Presbyterian. Stephen died with his mom at his bedside.
