Kristie Crowder, 30, was killed on January 6, 2023 in Charlotte, NC. Kristie graduated from UNC Charlotte in 2015 and taught math in Charlotte. She was killed while riding her bike.
The crash occurred on January 5, 2023 at 5 p.m. The initial investigation indicates that Kristie was riding her bike on The Plaza. A Honda vehicle driven by a 50-year-old woman was traveling at the intersection, the bicyclist rode into the intersection in front of the Honda, according to authorities.
The driver of the Honda was unable to stop in time and collided with Kristie. The bicyclist hit the side of the vehicle and the windshield, and then landed back on the roadway.
The Honda stopped at the scene. The driver of the Honda was not listed at fault for the accident.
Kristie was knocked unconscious. Medic transported Kristie to Atrium Health Main Hospital with life threatening injuries. Sadly, Kristie died on January 6, 2023 at the hospital.
Kristie had experience working in capital markets and photography.
