MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO MURDERING TEENAGER IN CHARLOTTE

Demetrius Mason, 21, pled guilty to murdering 19-year-old Yimere Joyner in Charlotte, NC. The guilty plea came on January 25, 2025. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.

Yimere was shot and killed on July 5, 2022 on Camp Greene Street Charlotte, NC.

The homicide was around 6 or 7 p.m. Yimere was shot multiple times in the stairwell of an apartment complex. Cops discovered the victim unresponsive and he was pronounced deceased on scene.

Demetrius was arrested in Greensboro, NC on July 28th and charged with murder, armed robbery with a dangerous weapon, and conspiracy to commit robbery.

At his 2025 trial Demterius pled guilty to second degree murder and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon. He was sentenced to 157-201 months in prison.
