Taneisha Gist, 39, died on August 17, 2024 in Winston Salem, NC. She had breast cancer.
Taneisha was first diagnosed with breast cancer a few years ago, it was stage 3 at the time. Her cancer took a turn for the worst and elevated to stage 4.

Taneisha died at the hospital. Taneisha created and sold decorative fruit arrangements. While alive, Taneisha pushed to lower the age of preventative mammogram screenings for women covered by insurance.
Taneisha also published a childrens book that talked about adoption and the foster care system.
Breast cancer is the 2nd most common cancer found in women. Taneisha attended Winston Salem State University, but she had to leave the university her senior year to take care of her little sister.
