VICTIM KILLED AT BUS STOP IN WEST CHARLOTTE AFTER SUSPECT ROBBED FAMILY DOLLAR

57-year-old Henry Miller was killed on June 3 ,2021 on Beatties Ford Road Charlotte, NC. Tony Holmes, 30, is charged with murder.

Shortly before 8:30 a.m., on June 3, 2021 Tony entered the Family Dollar located at 3618 Beatties Ford Road Charlotte, NC and stole items by the threat of a firearm. 

After the robbery, Tony left the scene in a black truck and was observed driving at a high rate of speed while weaving in and out of traffic.

Officers observed the truck being operated carelessly and recklessly as it exited the parking lot of the Family Dollar.  

The vehicle fled on Beatties Ford Road before losing control and striking a bus stop enclosure as Henry was seated inside the bus stop. 

Tony then fled on foot but was quickly arrested. Henry was transported to Atrium Health Hospital main, where he was pronounced deceased a short time later due to injuries sustained in the crash. 

Before that crash, Tony struck another vehicle on Beatties Ford Road. He failed to stop at the scene of that crash, which resulted in property damage only.

Tony is charged with armed robbery, misdemeanor hit and run, reckless driving, DWI, felony death by vehicle, felony hit and run, and second degree murder.
