MAN ROBS FISH TABLES BUSINESS AND VAPE TOBACCO SHOP

On March 28, 2023 a federal judge sentenced Travon Roary, 37, to 120 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release for committing two armed robberies in Charlotte, NC. Travon robbed a vape shop and an fish tables arcade business.

On November 24, 2021, officers responded to a 911 call for an armed robbery at Bowl 77 Arcade located at 2301 Westinghouse Blvd. in Charlotte.

The arcade employee told the officers that an individual had pointed a firearm at her and proceeded to take cash from the store’s registers. Travon was later identified as the suspect.

A few days later on November 28, 2021, officers responded to a 911 call for an armed robbery at Z’s Tobacco & Vape store located at 8424 Old Statesville Road in Charlotte.

The store employee told officers that two men had walked into the store. One of them, later identified as Tavon, asked the store clerk if he could buy a cigarette.

Tavon then came behind the counter, pulled out a black handgun, and pointed it at the victim as the victim was trying to walk away. Travon told the victim not to run or he would shoot him.

Travon forced the victim back to the cash register, where Travon and his armed co-conspirator took money and fled. 

Travon was arrested months later in March 2022.

On December 8, 2022, Travon pleaded guilty to two counts of robbery affecting interstate commerce, also referred to as hobbs act robbery.
