A young man identified as Abijah Barkley, 21, was murdered on March 9, 2024 on Fairwood Ave. Charlotte, NC. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.
Abijah was shot around 7 p.m. A witness saw Abijah rolling around on the street in pain and assumed he was having a drug overdose, the witness called 911 and reported a drug overdose.
Paramedics arrived under the assumption of a overdose victim. Abijah was loaded into the ambulance, but medics soon realized that Abijah had been shot.
Thus medics started a new treatment plan for a gunshot wound. But it was too late, and Abijah died. No arrests have been made. Click here to see the many Charlotte murders.
