53-year-old Wanda Sheppard was killed in a hit and run wreck on December 9, 2024, at 2:15 a.m., on North Caldwell Street Charlotte, NC.
The preliminary investigation indicates that Wanda was attempting to cross the street. Ms. Sheppard was then struck by a vehicle.
The vehicle refused to stop and was last seen driving towards East 12th Street.
Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive Wanda lying on the roadway with life threatening injuries. Wanda had internal and external bleeding from her mouth.
Officers spoke to witnesses on the scene who stated a dark colored vehicle struck Ms. Sheppard before fleeing the scene of the collision.
Paramedics transported Ms. Sheppard to Novant Health Presbyterian Hospital where she was pronounced deceased.
