A Charlotte Area Transit System CATS bus ran over a woman and killed her, the victim is Ebony Wingate. This is a multi million dollar wrongful death lawsuit, her family can sue the city of Charlotte
Ebony Wingate, 49, was run over by a city bus in Charlotte, NC. The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) bus fatal collision was on North Graham Street on October 2, 2026.
At 1:12 p.m., Ebony was getting off of the bus when she entered the street and was hit by the bus. Ebony was ran over by the bus and flattened.
Ebony died on scene. Passengers on the bus yelled out that Ebony was hit and the bus stopped. The bus driver was not charged with a crime.
Now a wrongful death lawsuit worth millions of dollars is expected to be filed against CATS and the city of Charlotte.
