WHITE MAN ACCUSED OF MURDERING HIS MOTHER

Date:

Shane McDevitt, 36, was arrested on May 11, 2022 charged with murdering his mother 65-year-old Cecelia Liposky in Lawrence County, Pennsylvania.

On May 10, 2022 Shane was at home with his mother when he allegedly hit his mother multiple times in the head with a round piece of glass and a claw hammer after an argument about drug addiction.

Shane then left the residence in a vehicle.

Cecelia’s daughter was in another part of the city, and did not hear from her mother; so the daughter called police for a welfare check.

State police arrived at Cecelia’s house and found her dead. Cops launched a murder investigation. Cops found a round piece of decorative glass and a claw hammer near her body with blood on them.

The coroner said Cecelia died from blunt force trauma to her head.

Shane was spotted around 2 a.m. the next morning driving Cecelia’s car. A brief chase ensued and Shane was arrested. Shane was charged with murder.
