Briawna Nabors, 23, is dead after gunfire erupted outside a Waffle House in Charleston, South Carolina. Briawna is a employee at the Waffle House. Rico Joy, 39, is charged in connection with the shooting.
A dispute escalated at the Waffle House on July 18, 2020. Briawna was not involved in the altercation. The dispute was in the parking lot and several shots were fired, Briawna was hit and died on the scene. A Waffle House customer was also shot and suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Several other people were hurt too. The shooting stemmed from a verbal argument, that then turned physical, which led to gunshots.
Rico faces charges of murder and attempted murder, as well as a weapons charge.
