On May 9, 2024 Melina Logan, 27, was arrested accused of stealing a vehicle from a car dealership during a test drive, leading cops on a highway chase, and then jumping into a river to avoid capture, all in Miami, Florida.
Melina went to the Honda of South Miami car dealership on May 9th. Melina posed as a customer and was allowed to test drive a new 2024 Honda Civic.
But during the test drive, Melina waited for the sales person to exit the car and when they did, she drove off.
Cops were alerted to the theft and chased Melina on the highway at speeds of 90 mph.
Melina ran into several vehicles causing damage during the chase. Melina finally crashed into more vehicles, which caused the stolen car to be wedged on the shoulder of a bridge.
Melina then exits the car and jumps off the bridge into a river to avoid arrest.
Melina was arrested within minutes charged with grand theft, aggravated fleeing and eluding, resisting an officer without violence, and leaving the scene of a crash involving an injury.
