25-year-old Brittany Rich was pregnant when she was shot 7 times at a gas station in Cumberland County North Carolina. The shooting was in February 2023.
Brittany drove her vehicle to a convenience store. When she came out, several men with guns attempted to carjack her. One of the men reaches for her keys, he then shoots Brittany 7 times.
Brittany was 4 months pregnant at the time of the shooting. The suspect takes Brittany’s keys and enters her vehicle.
Brittany is seen stumbling back into the gas station. The suspects could not get the car started, so they exit and run away.
Brittany meanwhile lays down in the store and waits for help. Brittany was taken to the hospital, she was shot in the elbow, her thigh, lower back, and stomach.
Brittany lost the baby due to the shooting. Brittany had surgery and received 13 staples in her stomach.
The suspects have not been arrested. But they will face murder charges for the death of Brittany’s unborn child, according to the Cumberland County District Attorney.
