New video shows the moments a mother was killed in front of her kids after the woman was hit by a police car while she was on foot in Houston, Texas. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.
The deadly collision was on September 19, 2024. The mother was walking with her three kids and a family friend. The kids included an 18 year old and 2 juvenile girls.
They had just gotten off the bus and were crossing the street. The woman dropped something and stepped back into the road to get it. At the same time, the police car driven by a female cop identified as Kennedy and occupied by a male passenger cop hit the mother in a head on collision. A inmate was in the back of the patrol car being transported to jail.
The woman’s kids were able to run out of the way, immediately the male cop can be heard yelling,
“Oh shit, oh my fucking god you didn’t see them Kennedy.”
The woman’s kids can be heard screaming and yelling in shock and horror. The victim was bleeding from the mouth and knocked unconscious. The woman was taken to the hospital in critical condition where she was pronounced dead.
The inmate was not hurt in the crash. The police department says speed is not believed to be a factor in the crash and the dead victim failed to yield right of way to a vehicle.
