Video shows the paint was burnt off cars in a parking deck fire in Charlotte
On February 20, 2025 a large fire broke out in a parking deck in the Noda area of Charlotte, NC. The fire was at a parking garage on Philemon Ave. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.

Video shows the fire began at 12:50 a.m., Charlotte Fire received multiple reports of a vehicle fire on the parking deck of an apartment building.

Engine 7 arrived on scene at 12:54 a.m. to find a car fully engulfed in flames on the third floor of the parking deck, with fire rapidly spreading to nearby vehicles.

Crews moved swiftly to attack the flames and contain the escalating fire. Fire personnel conducted a search of the area, confirming no victims were inside.
Despite firefighters’ quick response, the intense heat and flames damaged a total of 14 vehicles and caused structural damage to the parking deck. The cars were burnt to a crisp, the paint was stripped off.
The fire was brought under control at 1:35 a.m. The Charlotte Fire Investigation Task Force determined the fire was accidental, originating in the engine compartment of a parked vehicle.
Estimated property loss exceeds $170,000. No civilians or firefighters were injured, and no residents were displaced.
