Allen Slaughter and Alonzo Lewis Hamilton are in jail after shots were fired at a nightclub in Gastonia, NC on November 12, 2020. Two police officers were shot in the gun melee. Four patrons were also shot.
6 people total were shot. The shooting was at 11 p.m. at Remedies restaurant and nightclub on Union Road. An altercation broke out at the club and several shots were fired.
All six people hit by gunfire, including both police officers were treated at a hospital. Alonzo and Allen were arrested shortly after the shooting and have each been charged with six counts of felony assault with a deadly weapon. More arrests are expected.
Officials said the officers who were injured are Sgt. E. Nelson and Officer M. Lewis.
