19-year-old Journee Padgett and her 3-month-old baby girl Alanee were killed in a head on collision on October 15, 2024 in Monroe County, Michigan. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.
Journee was driving a vehicle with her new born baby girl in the car. Journee lost control and swerved into opposing lanes of traffic.
Journee’s vehicle then slammed head on into an 18-wheeler truck at 8:30 a.m. Speed and alcohol were not factors in the crash.
Journee and Alanee were pronounced dead at the scene. Alanee was properly secured in a rear facing car seat.
The driver of the tractor trailer truck was uninjured. Monroe County is 45 miles south of Detroit.
