Jadyn Rowdy, 17, was murdered in a shooting on June 24, 2024 in Monroe, NC. Christopher Barrett, 20, is charged with the homicide. A second teenager was also shot.
The shooting erupted on North Secrest Ave. at a residence. An argument began and multiple people began shooting.
Jadyn and the second teenager were shot. When officers arrived, they found the two victims suffering from gunshot wounds.
Jadyn died on scene. The other teen age 18 was transported by Union EMS to the hospital and is expected to survive his injuries.
Christopher was later arrested and charged with murder, attempted murder, assault with deadly weapon, and discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling.
