18-year-old Stephen Carter was murdered in a wild shooting on March 22, 2024 in Lancaster County, SC. Ny’Jeri Patterson, 17, and Kenneth Mitchell, 25, were arrested accused of murdering Stephen.
The shooting occurred at 11:15 p.m. on Zion Road. Stephen was in front of his home when he was shot. Cash was taken from Stephen.
Stephen’s mom came rushing to the front yard were her son lay dying. Stephen’s last words were “I love you momma.”
Stephen died on scene. The scene was processed, and evidence was collected. Investigators talked with witnesses and obtained information that is being pursued.
It does not appear this was a random incident.
On March 25, 2024 Ny’Jeri was arrested and charged with murder, robbery, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.
Also on March 25th Kenneth was arrested, he is from Barnwell, South Carolina. Kenneth is charged with murder and robbery.
