48-year-old Matt Sullivan was found dead in McAlpine Park in Charlotte, NC on August 14, 2022.
Matt was tall at 6 foot 2 inches. He was last seen on Friday August 12, 2022, around 1:45 p.m. Matt told his family that he was going for a hike and would return in a few hours. Matt was wearing teal shorts. Although Matt never returned, which then prompted the family to contact authorities for a missing person claim.
Search and rescue teams searched the park and wooded areas. Even thermal drones and a helicopter were used to search for Matt.
On August 14th the search crews made a gruesome discovery, finding Matt’s dead body in a wooded area in the park. No foul play is suspected, but an official cause of death is being analyzed by the medical examiner.
Matt was married to a loving wife, and leaves behind a loving family.
