Carlton Benbow, 32, is charged in the murder of Reginald Lawrence, 46. The victim was shot and killed in Charlotte, NC on November 29, 2019.
Mr. Lawrence was killed on Pebblestone Drive in the parking lot of local apartments. Witnesses informed officers that the possible suspect went into a nearby apartment.
Out of an abundance of caution, officers evacuated the other residents out of that building. The SWAT Team responded and was able to determine the suspect was not at that location.
After collecting physical evidence Carlton was identified as a suspect in this case. Carlton was arrested and charged with murder, assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill, possession of a stolen firearm, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
