SUSPECT ARRESTED AFTER YOUNG FATHER MURDERED IN AFTERNOON

Orlando Mickens, 23, was arrested on September 29, 2021 and charged with the murder of 27-year-old Marquise Chandler in Charlotte, NC. Marquise was a young father with young kids.

Marquise was shot and killed on July 13, 2021 on Harris Station Boulevard Charlotte, NC in the afternoon. Emergency crews took Marquise to the hospital, where he later died.

Homicide detectives identified Orlando as a suspect in this case, and warrants were issued for his arrest. On September 29, 2021, detectives located and arrested Orlando.

Orlando is charged with murder, possession of firearm by felon, robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, common law robbery, domestic violence protection order violation, interfering with an electronic monitoring device, and damage to property.
