SUSPECT ACCUSED OF STABBING MAN TO DEATH AND STEALING CELL PHONE

David Lawrence, 51, was arrested on June 18, 2026 accused of stabbing Said Ali Altabtabae, 27, to death in Charlotte, NC.

Said was murdered on June 10, 2026 at apartments on South Sycamore Green Place. At 6 a.m. Said was in his car getting ready for work.

David is accused of approaching Said and stabbing him to death in the apartment complex parking lot. David is also accused of stealing Said’s smart phone.

The suspect fled. EMS pronounced Said deceased on scene. After continued investigation, detectives identified David as the suspect and obtained warrants for his arrest. On June 18, 2026, Mr. Lawrence was located and arrested in Charlotte.

David is charged with murder and robbery.
