A fight and hard hit to the face left Saniya dead on the Juneteenth federal holiday
Sa’Niya Briana Charise Latimore, 23, was murdered on Juneteenth 2026 June 19th. Saniya was killed on Scaleybark Road Charlotte, NC at apartments. The Juneteenth holiday was declared a federal holiday marking the end of slavery in America. Black people were enslaved by white people in the USA for over 300 years.
A physical altercation between Saniya and another person erupted. Saniya was hit in the face and fell to the ground. Saniya died on scene. No arrests have been made yet. Saniya was arrested in June 2026 accused of assault. Juneteenth weekend in Charlotte tends to be pretty violent.
