2 sisters were arrested accused of stealing from Sephora, both have worked there
Andrea Pinargote, 22, and her big sister Paola Pinargote, 29, were arrested on October 14, 2024 accused of stealing from the Sephora store at 3321 Pineville-Matthews Rd. Charlotte, NC. Andrea is a current employee at the store, while Paola was a former employee. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.
The situation unfolded on October 9, 2024. The store manager at Sephora called the loss prevention investigator concerned that Andrea’s family members visited her too regularly at Sephora while she was at work.
Sephora was nearly ransacked during a shoplifting heist
The manager reported that the behavior was suspicious. The loss prevention investigator began to look at past video surveillance and discovered some damning actions.
The video footage from days prior showed Andrea selecting four powder cosmetics products and placing them into a Sephora basket.
Andrea was then observed taking the basket with the cosmetics inside it to the front of the store, placing it on the ground in front of a display.
This location was not a place used for basket storage or any other articulable storage. Within minutes Paola is seen coming in the store on the video footage from days prior.
Paola gives her sister Andrea a cup of to-go coffee. Paola is a former employee of Sephora.
Paola is seen looking through the store and taking cosmetic merchandise and concealing it into her handbag, court warrants say.
Andrea is seen in the back taking two different fragrances from the stock room. Andrea is accused of putting the fragrances in the basket at the front of the store.
Cops say Paola walks to the basket containing the cosmetics and fragrance where her sister placed them.
Paola is observed crouching down, and allegedly taking the products in the basket and putting them in her large purse bag.
Paola then allegedly left the store passing all points of sale with the concealed items and failing to render payment for anything.
Once store management saw the video, they contacted police. Paola was later arrested charged with larceny and felony conspiracy.
Andrea was arrested charged with larceny by employee and felony conspiracy. Sephora reported a total of nine various brands and types of cosmetics and two high end fragrances were allegedly taken by Paola.
The total value of this merchandise was $640.00.
