On August 2, 2026 a victim was shot and killed in center city Charlotte at the intersection of East 5th Street and North McDowell Street in Charlotte, NC.
At 1 a.m., officers responded to a robbery call. Upon arrival, officers discovered a crash involving two vehicles. Four victims were transported to local hospitals, one with life threatening injuries, three with non-life-threatening injuries.
The victim with life threatening injuries had sustained an apparent gunshot wound and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
