The wreck was at 8:19 a.m., Hanh was going to Harris Teeter grocery store. As he was crossing the street in his mobile chair Alma slammed into Hanh head on.

The impact knocked Hanh off of his wheel-chair and into the air. Alma remained on scene. EMS arrived on scene and transported Hanh to the hospital with life threatening injuries.

He was later pronounced deceased at the hospital. Impairment is not a suspected factor for Hanh or Alma. Even with speed not being a contributing factor of the collision, cops still wrongly charged Alma with misdemeanor death by vehicle for failing to yield the right of way for a pedestrian.

Hanh was a Vietnam War veteran.
