MURDER RULED JUSTIFIED AFTER MAN SHOT AND KILLED IN UNIVERSITY AREA

Prosecutors have decided not to press charges on the person that killed William Davis, 28. William was shot and killed on March 19, 2025. William was killed on Mary Alexander Rd. Charlotte, NC near UNC Charlotte. Follow Charlotte Alerts is on Instagram.

William was shot at a residence around 2 p.m. in the afternoon, the case was originally classified as a murder. EMS arrived to find William dead on site.

It took prosecutors several weeks to come to the conclusion that the homicide was justified. The person that killed William will not face any jail time and will not be charged with any crime. Click here to see several murder cases where the charges were dropped.

Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department consulted with the district attorney’s office to reach the justified homicide decision.
