MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO SHOOTING AT PREGNANT WOMAN ON FREEDOM DRIVE

Date:

On November 2, 2022 Robert Gaston, 25, pled guilty to discharging a weapon into occupied property. The shooting was in Charlotte, NC.

On July 9, 2021 Robert fired shots at a 24-year-old pregnant woman on Freedom Drive Charlotte, NC. The woman was driving a vehicle when Robert shot at her. The victim then pulled into a pawn shop parking lot and called police.

The woman was not shot. Robert was arrested on July 15, 2021.

Robert was originally charged with assault with deadly weapon intent to kill and battery of unborn child, but those charges were dropped in lieu of Robert pleading guilty to discharging weapon.

At the 2022 trial a judge sentenced Robert to 20-36 months in prison; that sentence was suspended pending his successful completion of 24 months of supervised probation.
