MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO MURDERING TEENAGER IN DRIVE-BY SHOOTING

On October 27, 2022 Tracy Witherspoon, 19, pled guilty to the murder of 16-year-old Jeremiah Woodard in Charlotte, NC. Tracy pleaded guilty to second degree murder, possession of a stolen vehicle, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Jeremiah was shot and killed in a drive by shooting on May 13, 2021 on Allen St. late at night in Charlotte. Tracy stole a car, and was driving the vehicle when he drove close to Jeremiah on the street.

Jeremiah was going to the store. Tracy let the car window down and let off several shots. Jeremiah was shot 3 times and died on the scene.

Tracy was arrested on that same night after a high speed chase. A judge sentenced Tracy to 15 to 19 years in prison.
