On Thursday, June 25, 2020, at 5:11 a.m. Tamarkus Brown, 30, was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Harrisburg Road Charlotte, NC.
The initial investigation revealed that Tamarkus was driving a Oldsmobile vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. Officials say the Oldsmobile was operating without headlights and crossed left of center and struck the front left of a Chevrolet Silverado truck, causing the front and side airbags to deploy in the Chevrolet.
The Chevrolet came to a final rest in its original lane of travel facing east. The Oldsmobile came to a final rest in the same lane as the Chevrolet, also facing east. According to investigators Tamarkus was not wearing a seat belt. He was pronounced deceased on scene.
The driver of the Chevrolet was not speeding and was wearing a seat belt. The truck driver was transported to Novant Main with minor injuries.
Excessive speed is a factor in this case. The Oldsmobile had heavy front-end damage.
