After a night of heavy drinking, Panther’s fan Peter Didier drove the wrong way and collided with a vehicle
On August 9, 2025 Peter Didier, 32, was killed in a head on collision on Interstate 277 in Charlotte, NC after a NFL Panther’s game. Peter was driving the wrong way on the interstate. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.

At 2:44 a.m. Peter had just come from a Panther’s game celebration, he was driving a red vehicle on I-277. Peter entered the incorrect on-ramp and began driving at increased speeds in the wrong direction of traffic.
Peter collided with a Ford Explorer SUV. The head on collision killed Peter on impact. Both vehicles had heavy front end damage. The driver of the Ford SUV was transported to Atrium Health Hospital in serious condition.
Detectives with the major crash investigation unit and the DWI task force responded to the scene and began their investigation.
